Our recommendation is to contact your agent and have them contact the sellers agent prior to contacting your title company.
As previously mentioned, it is an issus that should have come up during the search process and should have been resolved prior to closing. Rather than calling on Monday, it may be more beneficial to appear in person with your documents.
First of all if you had an attorney for your closing who was the one had to find out about the liens, taxes and all those up dates and searches. Normally if you have any left over water bill, it comes with the property. You might have to check with your title company or your attorney. (Normally in Buffalo we always hire the attorney for the buyer( I do not advise for my clients to use same attorney for the buyer and the seller) cause for any problem you have your own attorney behalf of you. Or if you had any real estate professional was working with you, who might give you advice to go best way. In down states and florida, california normally people deal with title companies. I do not know how do you close your deal.(with who). The best bet is check with your closing attorney. This info. might be helpful to solve your problem.
good luck with your new home and need any help for your real estate need you could contact me any time @ 716-907-3046 or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
