How to buy.?

Asked by Harvey, el paso, TX Sat Oct 27, 2007

I currently receive updates on houses for sale in Hinesville, GA can I get updates for Richmond Hill, GA also?
Also, I'm in Iraq, my family is in El Paso yet we'd like to buy in the Ft. Stewart area, how would you recommend we do this? On line?

Hi SuperMahal,

If you are asking about Trulia email updates please note that you can save the criteria of any search you perform on the site and have new homes that match this criteria emailed to you daily or weekly.

The link below shows Trulia's results for Richmond Hill. I encourage you to use the filters on the left side of the page to refine your results further. Once you're happy with that criteria scroll down until you see the 'Be the first to know' box in yellow and sign up for email alerts.

Thank you for your service in Iraq.
Long distance home buying is best done with the assistance of a realtor local to the area you want to purchase in. A good agent will be able to send new listings via the internet to both you and your family. Then, you can discuss them once you've had a chance to review them. Be specific in your likes and dislikes so the agent can narrow down your home search as most markets are flooded with homes for sale. Once you have a dozen or so of interest, plan on making a trip out there to review the listings you like and be ready to sign on the dotted line--have your mortgage preapproval, your checkbook, etc. Your agent will be able to set up the appointments for you ahead of time and be available to you the whole time you visit.
Good luck!

superhahal,

First of all be careful over there and get home safe!

You should not have too much trouble as long as you find an agent that is fairly tech. savy. A good agent should be able to set up a customized search page through their MLS service to notify you of homes on the market that meet your search requirements.

The key for you would be to find an agent who will communicate well with you like Mansur mentioned. I do not work in that area, but I have some contacts there and would be happy to assist you in finding the right agent for the job so you can get the service you need.

Let me know if there is any other way I can help.
