Relocating from NY next Spring. My kids are currently attending private schools, interested in learning about the best public schools in the greater Raleigh area.

I really believe all the schools in Wake County are safe and educational. I actually attended Millbrook High School several years back and believe this district to be one to move towards. Let me know if you have any questions further. 919-426-5023

Hello Katheryn,

There is a brand new elementary school, Sycamore Creek, just outside of Harrington Grove in Raleigh, in the NW corner, so it is convenient to I-540, I-40, RDU airport, RTP (Research Triangle Park) and Durham. There are also other highly-rated schools that are within 5 miles. Brier Creek Shopping Center is only a few minutes from the neighborhood. Best of luck.

Hi Katheryn,

Here are some sites for you research:

I too lived in NY and relocated to Cary and love it here. I live in Western Wake and think it's wonderful place to raise a family. If you have any questions feel free to give me a call (919.475.6340).

Good luck!

Western Wake has the best schools. My wife is a teacher, and we moved out to the Davis Drive area in Cary for the schools alone. Davis Drive Elementary has about the highest scores in the county, and Wake County has the best sores in the state. But, if you're commuting to RTP, highway 55 can get crazy around 8:30 so take take Green Hope School Road to Carpenter from High House Road. But, don't tell anyone I told you so. Let it be our secret.

I am NOT a real estate agent, and I do not want to sell you anything.

As you research the Wake County Schools, you find that they are excellent schools with proficient administrators and teachers. You'll find excellent schools in Raleigh, Cary, Apex, and Holly Springs. Matching your family up with the right schools, the best neighborhood, and the right home will all go hand-in-hand. Identifying what you are looking for in all three areas will help narrow in on the best home for you!

I am from the Rochester area....have been living in the Southern Wake County for over 10 years....and I know you'll LOVE it here!! Please feel free to contact me if I can be of assistance in way as you make plans to relocate. Feel free to call me directly at 919.730.7746.

Best of luck!

Hi there! I am glad to hear you are considering a move to North Carolina. Except for a few years in Tennessee, I have lived here most of my life. The pace of life is slower, but not backwoods! The cost of living is reasonable, and home prices, while not on the bottom of the chart, are still very, very reasonable here.
I am located in the Raleigh/Durham area. Raleigh is located in Wake County, which was cited on CNN last week as the 6th fastest growing county in the US. While Raleigh is certainly growing, so are the bedroom communities surrounding....and that is where I spend the majority of my time. I have access to a great supply of homes for that have a 'country' neighborhood atmosphere but are within a 15-20 minute commute to the city. The majority of my work takes place in the area just north of Raleigh; Wake Forest, Franklin and Granville Counties. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the great communities you will find and the wide choices of homes and floor plans available to you.

I'd love to add you to the list of our happy homeowners!

As a Realtor in Raleigh, I can tell you that the Wake County schools as a whole are excellent. Having said that, because of the tremendous growth in Wake County, school assignments can change from year to year. Just understand that from year to year your kids could be moved to different schools because of new schools coming on line, or redistricting that can occur to ease overcrowding. When looking for a home, it is important to visit the schools and ask questions of the administrators concerning the enrollment numbers and the capacities of the schools. I have found the school system to be very helpful in answering such questions.
