Any one know the average price paid per square foot for La Grange KY?

Asked by Debra, 40031 Sun Jul 29, 2007

Or for Oldham County Kentucky? We're renovating a 70 year old farmhouse but don't want to do so many renovations that we price the house out of the market and eliminate any potential profit.

Debra, I agree with Tom. Measuring value by square footage is probably not the best way to gage how renovations will increase it. There are many articles on this subject and I have attached one but the best way to compare is to look at comparable properties, what they are selling for or have sold for and what both the home and property condition is, including kitchen appliances/counter tops, floors/hardwood, etc.

Here is a link to a decent article on this: http://www.ehow.com/list_7293829_home-renovations-increase-p…

Debra, I regret that I haven't responded earlier. Your answer will totally depend on the value of the land and the quality of your restoration. A middle class property should cost about $90.00 per square foot and you can see a high quality property rise to the $150's.
