Alright J, deep breath, there you go, one more...cool! This has to be a bit of a shock to make decisions about the future of you and the child you love on such short notice. But it can also be a grand adventure with wonderful new opportunities for both of you.......

You are doing everything right (researching, asking questions, what's best for my child ect..) I think you'll be fine. You find yourself wanting to find all the answers and end up with a ton of info bouncing around inside your head with 36,482,391 new questions and doubts being created every 15 minutes. That's when it's time to acknowledge you're making the move because you are a person who already solved more problems in life than some move to Austin Texas and your child has always been included in your decisions.

What all that babbling means is you're going to make the right choices and there is no one in the world that can stop that because you are who you are. So embrace the grand adventure, look forward to the new friends you'll both make (I like my friends better than my family :p) the new things you'll both see and the job you have in hard economic times for many.

I don't know how much time you have or what all you need to learn about, but please feel free to ask anytime and if I or others here can help we absolutely will. Even if you just need to vent or bounce ideas around, please do so. When you go to Austin to take a look around and breathe the air of your new life, nothing will make that more relaxing than knowing you've already made new friends in your adventure and you did everything possible to make a great life for the child you love.

Jeez, this sucker is so long you've probably already moved and your child has started college.

Take care and let the Grand Adventure begin, Dunes

I hope your move goes smoothly and thank-you for the thank-you...

I did see this yesterday and thought it might be of interest to you.
http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/help/directory_a.htm ...It's the service directory for the city of austin and has all the contact info for city services. I thought for your child you might be interested in contacting the parks and athletic programs, public art contacts, aquatic programs and tons of other city sponsored or run programs.

Wish you the best of moves, Dunes

Contact the school direct who are experts in the office if not they most likely could provide you referral locations.
