Another source would be a Natural Hazards Disclosure Company, such as Property I.D. and Disclosure Source. They may have information on the suitability of the soils in their reports. Depending upon the location of the property, local disclosures may include naturally occurring asbestos, methane gas, subsidence, compressible soils, expansive soils, ground displacement, fault rupture zones, fire threat zones, local fire hazard zones, protected species and habitats, abandoned mining operations, local faults, local landslides, local liquefaction zones, among others.

The Brock Hills homes are beautiful. Yes, they do have foundation problems. Not all, but most. You can easily see them in the sidewalks leading to the houses, garages, patios, and other areas. The issue is not the foundations per se; it is the hillside itself.
Rumors abound, don't they? So far, the homes are still standing and the rumors have not come to pass. Anytime you purchase a hillside property, you want to see if there is any current information with regard to hillside stability. There will always be rumors!
