I just worked with a buyer to write a contract on a Drees Home in Quail Run. We were able to close quickly on an existing home and my clients are thrilled! I personally own a Drees home that I purchased in 1997 and love it and their good warranty program. I learned on this latest deal just how much more they have added to their product (in terms of energy-efficiency, etc) since that time. I was very impressed. I don't know anything about Landstar but can highly recommend Drees and Quail Run for its wonderful location. When looking at new construction it is still very important for you to have an agent represent you--the builder is still a seller and it's helpful to have an agent on your side to negotiate. Builders are happy to work with agents and actually solicit our assistance. If you talk to Drees, ask for Beau and tell him I sent you. He's awesome! Better yet, I'd be glad to go out with you. They are making some great deals right now and rates are the lowest ever!

Landstar is a great builder! They are also closing out their single family homes division in the Dallas area, so you would get the last of a great breed. This could be a great factor for you when you re-sale the home. They want to focus more on town homes and commercial in this marketplace, so that's where they are channeling their energies now. They are a much more contemporary builder than Drees. Their product is pretty unique and difficult to find in the area. They also build in Cypress Creek in Frisco with Drees.
That's also a good factor because the homes will look different, there will be contiguous architectural integrity and you don't have to rely solely on Landstar to finish out the community. Drees has a good reputation and builds a solid product.
I've negotiated with Landstar before and helped clients save a bundle. If you haven't already got a buyer's representative representing YOUR best interests, I would so advise you to do so. It costs you nothing, but could save you a fortune in time, headaches, heartaches, not to mention your pocketbook.

Both companies are 3 star in customer satisfaction which can be a difficult element to measure because everyone has their own expectations. Quality is of utmost importance as well as location.
Cumberland Farms is a beautiful community as well, the homes are a bit pricy because they are larger with more ammenities and the lots offer more privacy than Quali Run. However if Quali Run is your choice, here is one home that is available :
