is there a way to get around the 30 day notice in a month to month rental? what do you do if you want to move?

somewhere else but you have to give 30 days notice but you only have 7 days before you want to move out? and what do you do if the listing agent doesn't answer your calls?

Sometimes the Landlord may be willing to waive the 30 day requirement. Regardless you need to give him your 30 day notice in writing and then speak to him and see how it goes.

There is really no way to get around a 30 day notice unless the Owner will give you permission to move and release you of the agreement, which they sometimes do. Do you have the Landlord's number or is the listing agent your only contact with the Landlord? Fax your notice to move and the date and see what happens.

The easiet way to move is just that--to move. Pay the rent for the thirty days after you give notice. If the unit is rented before 30 days, you are not liable for the time of double rent. If you initially paid first and last months' rent, the last month's rent covers the thirty days.

First, if you have a written lease on the place you are renting then legally you are obligated to follow the rules of the lease. If they are willing to waive the notice then get it in writing the waiver. If the listing agent does not return calls then call the realty office and ask for the managing broker, that usually will get a fast reaction.
