and he has excellent credit. The thing is, his salary alone is not enough to get the price range we want. Is there a way to combine our income without my credit?

Why is your credit poor? Have you reviewed a copy of your credit report? Is it possible there are errors or items greater than 7 years old that should have perhaps dropped off? You may receive a free copy of your trimergecredit report @ http://www.AnnualCreditReport.com

Melissa, the best loans meet Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac guidelines which use the lower of your two scores. Some other types of loans may allow it but usually their will be a premium on your rate. For example, subprime loans used to allow the higher score. The guidelines are changing every day so get a full loan review by a qualified loan officer.
