christina i have lived in lynn for over 16 years brought a house and raised 4 children. all are well ,educated, respectful individuals who have never been in a gang also lynn has one of the most sports oriented towns that there is around true lynn has gangs, crime, bad neighborhoods and such but you tell me what town really doesn.t (you can.t ) because people are people no matter what city or town you live in lynn is no better or worse than a lot of other towns that are affortable. now if you have that kind of money then by all means go for it but it is how you raise your chidren that matter NOT WHERE

What is a bad area anyways? People live in Lynn, Dorchester, Roxbury and other so called” bad areas” and will continue to live there. Lynn is close to the ocean and some nice beaches, and has nice ethnic stores and restaurants. The Northshore community college is there too.
If you are concerned with the crime than you have to do your own research (sorry the law).

I am pretty sure that you have done some research on Lynn but just in case:

Hi Christina- I've spent a fair amount of time in new Orleans and in some of the suburbs there, as well as having lived in Lynn for a while. I think I could help you out a bit. If you'd like to contact me directly, please feel free.
In general, most streets off Western Ave are not really streets I would want to live on. I'm a mortgage broker, and my business is not really finding people properties- so I think I can say this...
It's all relative. There are many neighborhoods in New Orleans that are similar or "worse" (not my word) than many of the streets or areas of Lynn. Depends what you're used to. Good Luck. Thanks,

Ken L.

Cristina,

I grew up in the nearby Saugus, MA. I'm going to tell you what these other folks won't. Lynn is VERY dangerous. It is easily the most dangerous area on the north shore area. Salem and Revere are not that great either...but they are considerably better than Lynn, especially if you can find a family neighborhood.

People from Lynn tend to be very loyal to Lynn....which is nice....but they usually won't tell you about thecrime, drugs, horrible schools, gangs (yes, Gangs!)

If you are single and want to live inexpensively, then a nice section of Lynn would probably be okay....but if you have kids....I would avoid it. Try Peabody if you are concerned about affordibility.

I live in Lynn. As a large city , the 3rd in Mass, there are all kind of neighborghoods. There are beautifull areas and ugly areas.
What I like from Lynn, it is close to beaches, it has one of the largest municipal reserves , Lynwood, it is closed to 3 malls, it is 15 minutes from Salem and 20 minutes from Boston.

The best areas, Pinehill, and the diamond area.

Hi Christina. While licensed real estate agents in MA cannot legally what is a "good" or "bad" neighborhood, we can provide consumers with the resources that will assist them in reaching their own conclusions. I am including a website below that my out-of-state relocating clients find useful. Let me know what you think! Best of luck!

Hello, Cristina. If you need specific, down to the numbers, information on the crime levels in Lynn in general and/or on its certain streets, you will have to go to the Lynn Police Station that’s locating on Washington St a cross the street from the Court. When you get there, tell them that you are looking to buy and what to know about crime levels on such and such streets. NO Real Estate Agents can give you that information, if they want to keep their licenses. We are bounded by the rule and regs and cannot disclose that information even if we know it, the best what we can do is to send you to the police station. So please, do yourself a favor and go to the police station because ONLY THERE you can get “unbiased concrete information about crime”. Good Luck. Sincerely, Gennia Temina, Realtor from Vernon A. Martin Inc. If you need further assistance, plsease feel free to contact me at 978.771.8611 or gtemina@yahoo.com.

Good morning, Christina:
You can contact the local police department either in person or by phone. They would be your very best source of information. Good luck!
