I highly recommend you contact the top metrowest real estate agent, John Prescott, C21 Commonwealth at 508-523-9252. His website is http://www.johnprescott.net. He is a highly acclaimed buyers' agent who was formerly with the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, and as such, is an astute negotiator on behalf of his clients. Anyone can find you a home, to some extent, but you want someone who can find you the right home, at the right price. He is very conscientious and well prepared, and not one of the typical part-time brokers who make up the majority of real estate agents. He has chosen this as his full time career, and is dedicated to providing expert advice and financial acumen. His wife is a former vice president of Newton-Wellesley Hospital and he has worked with many hospital employees and medical staff. I suggest you call him sooner rather than later, if you're looking for the very best in real estate!

Does it matter if it's self proclaimed or not?

I've been following your thread. I think you gave me the "Best Answer" classification. You will definitely get a bunch of agents recommended themselves. One thing I do differently is I present my offers accompanied with a Certified Residential Real Estate Appraisal. That way, sellers can't be offended by a so-called "low-ball" offer. The support of the offer is in black and white and measurable by the appraisal report. I've posted a link to my recent blog post about the "Power of the Appraisal" below. I saved my last buyers nearly $30,000 on their recent purchase. So obviously, I'd be happy to meet with you if you're interested in seeing if there might be a fit here. I do a lot of appraisals in Newton and am familiar with the local market.

Good luck!
