Hi Betty... you'll probably want to meet with at least 3 different Realtors in your area to discuss what they can do to help list your home for sale. Their commissions are negotiable and there are no standard commission rates. The Realtor can talk to you about what your home value may be based on current market trends and you can decide from there if you'll make enough on the sale of your home to pay off your mortgage(s) and pay the seller part of the fees associated with the sale of your home (for example...prorated taxes, document processing fees, any attorney fees, any negotiated buyer closing costs, repairs...if applicable, and any transfer fees or taxes associated w/ the sale that are required by your state). If you want to sell quickly, your agent can advise you on the most competitive price (usually slightly below the most comparable active listing).

Another option (depending on where you live) could be to secure a tenant for your current home w/ an extended lease... this could also affect any interest rates on subsequent loans, but it's an idea if you have trouble selling and definitely need to relocate to NC.

Hope that helps. Have a great evening!

Do you think that your home is worth the money that you owe on the mortgage? I recommend contacting a local real estate agent and having them perform a Market Analysis on your home.
I also recommend contacting a lender if you plan on purchasing when you do come to North Carolina. This will allow time to fix any possible issues on your credit report that could possibly prevent getting a loan here.
If you would like some assistance finding a local agent in your area let me know and I will can assist you in finding one.
Best of Luck!

Hello Betty,

First you would need to list your current home with a local realtor (I can refer you to one if you would like). A good agent can give you ideas and recommendations on how best to sell your home. Let me know if I can be of any help.

Thanks and have a great evening.

Your first step should be to list your home with a local agent. An agent can set the right price and help you market your home for a quick sale.
