KC is a very large geographical area covering potions of two state and several counties which reults to VERY diverse housing statistics.
If you can be a little more specific concerning the area you are interested in, I would be happy to provide specific statistics as well as some insight as to why the numbers say what they do.
Housing prices have declined everywhere and it is a very individual percentage not only by market but by neighborhood. To get the best information possible you need to work with a REALTOR that specializes in specific quadrants of town and you have the added twist in Kansas City that you're in two states. I've got lots of connections there through the Women's Council of REALTORS (I'm a past President for the Columbia market) and also through CRS (Certified Residential Specialists - designation of the National Association of REALTORS). If you'd like a list of recommended REALTORS I'd be happy to help. Just shoot me an email and I'll send contact information for several agents by area. Happy house (or condo) hunting and it's a great time to be a buyer!

Welcome to KC. It is always good to have more people from Iowa move to town. I am from Clinton myself, and went to ISU. I would be happy to refer you to a good Realtor that I have worked with in the area. Call Daren Higerd with Wiechert Realty. 816.309.2231. He is extremely knowledgeable and can help you find what you are looking for. Best of luck. Jarod.
