Looking for a place within these High Schools areas

Asked by Munzer, Raleigh, NC Wed May 21, 2008

We have recently relocated to the Raleigh area, and planning to buy/ rent a place in a good school district. What zipcodes should we be looking for, we are interested in Leesville High School, Wake Early College of Health and Needham Broughton High.

Leesville High School is located near Harrington Grove in in ZIP code 27613, in the NW corner, so it is convenient to I-540, I-40, RDU airport, RTP (Research Triangle Park) and Durham. There are also other highly-rated schools that are within 5 miles. Brier Creek Shopping Center is only a few minutes from the neighborhood. Best of luck -

As a former educator in Wake County, I have a lot of experience within the school system itself. You can find out the school attendance node by visiting the http://www.wcpss.net website, clicking on the Student Assignment Resources link and then clicking the Student Assignment Finder at the top of the page. If you decide you like a certain area or certain home, you can type in the address to see which schools correspond with that address. Often, just because the home is in the same zip code doesn't mean that your address will be assigned to that school.

Wake County has experienced a huge amount of growth over the last 10-15 years and student reassignment has become a necessary evil (assigned to one school one year and another school the next to help with balancing out the population and growth). It may not be uncommon to have one part of the neighborhood go to one school and the other part of a neighborhood going to a different one. When I taught in Raleigh, we had students in our school who came from Garner and Cary, so it really is address-specific...and can change from year to year.

I can do MLS searches for you based on schools you choose and the number of bedrooms, bathrooms, and amenities that you're looking for if you'd like. I also have access to appreciation rate info in those areas so that you can help pinpoint an investment that may give you more bang for your buck. You can also search for homes on my website at http://www.wendynormanonline.com. Please let me know if I can help in any way or call with further questions 919-785-4240.

Wake county has a great site: http://www.wcpss.net. It has a school locator and shows the base areas. This site will, also, have more information on the Wake Early College of Health. I know that High School has an admission process and the admission period for next year may be over. I would be happy to do a MLS search based on your high school choices. Please feel free to call me with any questions. My cell is 919.244.0754 and my website is: http://www.dreamsintorealty.biz. I wish you Great Luck in your search! Remember I can turn YOUR DREAMS INTO REALTY!!!
