Looking for a good/new Townhome near Metropark/middlesex county

Looking for a good/new Townhome (10-15 yrs old) near Metropark(10 miles range) or near to NYC train station in middlesex county with good schools & Indian community.
Preferbly 3br with basement.
Any advice??

Hi Saru,

I am selling my beautiful town home in Westgate Square complex in North Edison, 10min to Metropark Train Station 4.3miles 5 lights. However its a 2 bedrrom 2.5 bathroom units. My house is 284 westgate dr...all details can be found at http://www.284westgate.com. I am selling it "For Sale by Owner" and the price listed is $388,000....but if you are an independent buyer the price is negotiable.

The school district is North Edison, and MLK is for the primary school, JPStevens is for highscool. Good size indian / desi community in the complex with most of them with one or two small kids. I have two little girls and they have tons of friends inside the complex. This is a must see complex if you havent seen already. Most units have a huge loft on the second floor, which some have modified into a 3rd bedroom.

Also, Saru, in case you bought at 08820, the best gas price in the area is $3.69 as you can see http://www.newjerseygasprices.com/index.aspx?&area=Edison

If you find better price gas, please do not hesitate to share so that we can all bash down the gas price. Remember the rule I posted earlier that 2br 2ba condo at Edison worth 100,000 gallon of gas when it was around $2.75, i.e. $275,000, so if gas goes up to $3.69 that would implies that price will go up to $369,000 although it may not be synchronized in real time.

By the way, Mario, since you from Bound Brook, my friend just bought 789 Schoolhouse at Bound Brook and will be close the end of the month. I feel many houses in Bound Brook is very nice, right next to Bridgewater Commons Mall and near wonderful private Pingry School. Also, walk to NYC Train Stn.

Dear Mario,

We Asians in Greater Edison Area tends to want to start up with a condo or townhouse is because many of us working at Wall St and have long hours and do not have much time to do yard work. Besides, during weekends, we need to take kids to visit museums and science center so that our kids can get into better university later. http://berkeleyhousing.blogspot.com/ So, hopefully that and answer your puzzle, so are many other Americans.

On the other hand, I do know multi generation Americans who grew up in the US and have learned how to deal with their lawn and do housing repair ...etc, they prefer to have single family houses, which is great! That's why Fobes magazine name Piscataway area the most affordable transit area in Greater New York City.

Im a realtor working in the area. Village pointe is the newest and closest one to metropark. But why pay for a condo when you can buy an actual house for the same price and get your own land, a basement and lots of privacy. Or even better, a /reforeclosure or REO.

If you are considering Piscataway, there are only total 7 3br townhouse available for sale, and the best matched your criteria maybe Maple Grove at Piscataway as you can see http://maplegroveatpiscataway.blogspot.com/

You may also consider this Seven Station Square of Middlesex County http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=254591… that gives you the easiest place to access to NYC Train Stations ... The center of this Seven Station Square (SSS) is huge Middlesex Mall and Hardley Shopping Center http://middlesexmall.blogspot.com/

Yes, but the newest one is Village Pointe http://villagepointeatedison.blogspot.com/ that is very close to Metuchen Train Station as you can see http://www.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&saddr=400+Main+St… The only catch is that there is only one 3br townhouse available, the rest dozens all gone!!!

I have no problem to endorse John as I have read many of his posting, very consistent and informative.
