Asked by Debbie Kueber, Glendale, NY Wed Feb 18, 2009

My son is about to sign a contract on a small 2 family that he will be residing in. He is a first time homeowner. Will he qualify for the tax credit?

the answer is yes regarding the tax credit....i believe - as long as he plans to reside there in one of the units (owner occupant).

If he has not owned a property for the past three years, I think the answer is yes. Good luck.
