carries most of the income but he has had a past foreclosure. Will i still qualify for frst time homebuyer benefits, loans or grants?

My advice is that you get preapproved first to see if you qualify for a home purchase and for how much.
See if you and your boyfriend qualify for the home. Also if your boyfriend hasn't owned a primary home in 3 years he will qualify for the tax credit....
Usually your boyfriend would qualify for a home again through FHA if he foreclosure was 2 years ago. 4 years ago for a conventional loan.

A mortgage broker would be able to tell you what you qualify for. Usually if the foreclosure is not 7-10 yrs old it will be hard to get a mortgage. If you have not owned a home in the last 3 yrs. you can probably qualify for some first time homebuyer benefits. You wont know till records are reviewed by a mortgage broker how to structure purchase an both parties qualify. Loan officer can discuss any other particulars with you. Depends on when foreclosure took place.
