To find out about foreclosures, simply find out which newspaper for the area you're interested in carries the published notices. You'll have to buy the paper, but you get the entire paper and the foreclosure notices are a "bonus." Or, for those who live in the area in which they're pursuing foreclosures, just go down to the local courthouse. All the notices of default are filed there.

Depending on which state you are in, a local agent may already have access to the information and may be willing to share with you. In my area I post listed REO properties to my website and provide weekly links to county recorder's office data, of preforeclosure and foreclosure-bank auction properties to investment clients that I am working with.
