I am looking to rent a single dwelling unit, townhouse or flat in Ferndale, MI, 48220. I would be willing to try Oak Park, Hazel Park, South Field or Royal Oak as long as it is close to either downtown Ferndale or Royal Oak. These are all in Oakland County MI.
Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti Michigan could work for me as well.
If the above can not be met, Ingham county, namely, Lansing, Holt, and Mason are my last and very disappointing choice. I need to be in Oakland County for Health Reasons.
I have been searching like crazy and unable to find what I need. If there is a realtor that assists with the houses he rents or just houses for rent in general, I could really use the help. I can give you exactly to a T, what I am looking for, price range, etc.
Thank you so much,

Hi R...and Good Morning JR!

Ask a buyer agent to cross reference properties which are listed both for sale and for rent in MLSs. This will provide a list of properties that may be suited for a lease to own option.

As previous posters have said, it is possible, and look for empty long on the shelf homes. It has been my experience, however, that most "for sale" home owners want to sell, not become landlords. Many want out. IMO you should also look at rentals and offer to rent to own.

R,
It all depends on what our clients need and want us to do. The agencies merely follow the direction the client wishes us to take. Now you can also ask your buyers agent to explore this possiblity with other homes also. I usually look for homes that are A) have been on the market for at least 5 to months and that are vacant. This will mean that the present owner has already moved and is carrying two payments. They may not advertise that they will do a lease purchase but, if presented correctly they may.

Hope this helps,
