Marktylerj, Other/Just Looking in

My girlfriend and I are moving to Nashville at the beginning of August

Asked by Marktylerj, Fri Apr 25, 2008

and want to find a place to rent before we buy. We're interested in condos/houses rather than apartments. We love the West End, Belmont, Germantown areas, but are open to most anything. We'd love to spend between $800-$1200/month. Any thoughts on where to start?

The company I work with, Village, is the top representing agency of these types of properties for sale. Many of them have been developed by our clients and sold by our agents. This week, we found out that our company has just launched a property management firm! It was a great surprise. Check out for contact information. I was quite impressed with the presentation I saw this morning. It could be a great resource for you.

I have a client interested in leasing house out short-term near Music Row. I have access to additional rentals, too. Feel free to let me know if you'd like to see them.

There are several condo projects completing this summer that will likely mean some investors looking to rent so shop around. I would also suggest that you look at a real estate frim with a property management division. They often are in the know a little ahead of time about what's available. We have one which i can forward you to if you like or feel free contact me for a lists of developments that consistently have rentals available.

Brian is correct, with the Werthan Lofts closing right now, several rental opportunities have surfaced. The few I knew about were leased out pretty quickly. However, with closings still occurring, more opportunities should arise. 1 bedrooms are renting between 1,000-1,350 and 2 bedrooms from 1,200-1,650. I tend to be one of the first to hear about the rentals because I work in the sales center a couple times a week. I can keep a lookout for you if you are interested in Werthan. You can check out the website in the Web Reference below..

In Germantown, Werthan Mills (the old flour sack factory) is just finishing up another phase. Several investors there are renting theirs out. I just turned two friends onto one, and they are the first to live in the home. They love it! Email me if you want some contacts.

I did a quick search on the MLS in the West End/Belmont/Vandy and Green Hills area. I found a house in Sylvan Park, in St Thomas/White Bridge, and in Waverly/Belmont areas. Then there were a few duplexes for rent in the Woodmont & Hillmont areas. Then you have condos like Acklen Park, Bristol on Broadway and Elliston Place that all had a rental or two that showed up in that price range. Let me know if you want more specific information on them and I can email them to you.

M, contact real estate offices offering "property management" for the widest selection of properties available, if you'll give them your timeline, price range etc. it will save time and $ as opposed to buying a newspaper and riding around trying to find them on your own. Good Luck!
