Heather,
This is in an "X500" flood zone meaning it is in one of the highest areas in Key West and very slim chance it would flood. Most mortgage lenders do not require flood insurance in these areas. This is the meaning per monroe county property appraiser - "An area inundated by 500-year flooding; an area inundated by 100-year flooding with average depths of less than 1 foot or with drainage areas less than 1 square mile; or an area protected by levees from 100- year flooding."
I have a .pdf flood map of the Island I would be happy to send you. It details the flood level of every area. Please see my website http://www.jimmylane.com for contact info.
