Sorry to hear that your stuck in that situation, it can really be frustrating. However, it is common and the only thing you can do is wait. You should not be penalized for the banks delay, so make sure your agent does an extention of escrow and have any per-diem fees waived for the banks delay. You will want to make sure with your lender that your loan lock does not expire or your docs. I have in these instances, contacted the asset company or seller to find out why the grant deed is not at title, and try to hunt it down. Mostly it's just an issue of it sitting on someone's desk and it just needs to be signed. The worst case senario is the bank never received or lost it or it was never properly transferred. In that case, the seller or you would be able to cancel with no penalties and you should be able to recieve your deposit back. They are no other option to close escrow that I am aware of. You need the grant deed signed by the seller. Good luck to you!
