We would like to buy a SF fixer-upper within the boundaries of a very good, but not crazy-expensive,

elementary school - Diamond ES, Darnestown ES, Farmland ES, Travilah ES. Would also take a townhome w/ yard and garage. For, um, $375 - $400K. I know we're reaching, but we've gotta gotta be in a good school. We're coming from Dallas, where our home-buying dollar went a l-o-t farther!

How did your home search go? There are numerous opportunites out there in your price range. If you haven't purchased yet, I suggest that you look for a home in the $425 range and negotiate down. The buyer's are in control and have the advantage of all the hype.

Hi Laura,
Why not really capitalize on the investment and accomplish your goal and find a great community for your family! Check out http://www.TeamAllenHomes.com and search the Hagerstown, MD area. I have lived in the Mont. County area and moved here myself and have never regretted the decision. Definately a great place for families and good quality living!

Laura, these are very good schools. In the City of North Potomac, Darnestown, and Gaithersburg as of Today, there are 400+ properties below $450K that it may fit within your needs. I would be glad to send you the list by school zone.

V/R,

Reza

It is an excellent time to buy and there are plenty of lovely townhomes to choose from in the 375K-400K range with good schools. As far as fixer-upper homes there is plenty to pick from that are in need of repair-provided you have the monies and time to fix them up.
Please visit my website to do searches, enter your criteria etc.My website is http://www.annettesellsmetrohomes.com. When will you coming to Maryland?

You chose a very good time to buy a home in the DC Metro area. I searched for some properties. I found about 18 properties. I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for so I'm including all of them. Please call me if you have any questions or want to see any of these propertites.
