Houses in the Wall area, or in the 195 corridor with good schools?

Asked by Sarah, 07701 Fri Apr 4, 2008

My husband just got a new job in the Trenton area. We currently live in the Middletown/Red Bank area. It's more than 50 miles, door to door, and we are considering moving a little further south to the Wall Township area. We want to stay close to the west side of the Garden State Parkway. I don't know anything about the areas along the 195 corridor, and we need a good school system for our two children, one in high school, and the other in middle school. I do know that Wall Township High School is rated very high, but I am not familiar with anything west of that. We want a safe town for our family. Any suggestions?

Hi Sarah,

A place to start in looking for a good school system would be at http://www.greatschools.net/. You can also check right here on the Trulia Website, go to the Real Estate Guides tab at the top of the page and click on the city and state you are looking for.

Good luck,

Sarah,

As you stated, Wall schools are excellent. When you live in town the only differential between neighborhoods (education wise) is the elementary school. Everyone goes to the same middle and high school. Residents are very opinionated about which elementary school is better than the rest. Do check out the websites recommended and feel free to call me to discuss the differences, also.

If you were to move to Wall, there are so many houses on the market now that you could have an easy job finding one that was convenient to any of the major highways that would get you to 195 within minutes of your home. You don't necessarily have to be West of the Parkway.

For a current look at market conditions in Wall, you can go to my website and order a market snapshot. It will give you not only current listings, but closed sales, as well. I also have a link to the school systems. Good luck with your move!

Wall Township is terrific. Great schools, very family oriented town. However, don't discount towns like Howell, Jackson, and Millstone. These are all on the 195 corridor. It takes 35 minutes from Howell to Trenton, I do it all the time. All three towns have good schools. I would welcome the opportunity to show you the area.

Hi Sarah,
Wall is a great town with a good school system. Some other towns to consider are Howell, Freehold and Colts Neck. These towns are also great to raise a family and have good school systems.
Here is a link to the NJ Dept of Education website where you can see the school reports: http://education.state.nj.us/rc/

The Wall Township area is a wonderful place to reside if your commuting to Trenton. The quality of life in this area is excellent, along with a good school system, they have lots of recreational activities in the area and very close to the beach. The school system itself has a great reputation. It's an excellent school system. They just expanded the Intermediate School and High School within the last few years. My kids are currently in the grammar school in Wall Twp. but my oldest will be attending the Intermediate in September. I wouldn't see them going to school any where else. Below is the link to the school reports in Monmouth County.
