Mira, Home Buyer in Brooklyn, OH

How can I find out if if a property has been sold? Are these kind of records hold at a public place?

Asked by Mira, Brooklyn, OH Wed Apr 2, 2008

I am thinking of buying a condo but am wondering what will happen to the property next door. The rumors are that the property has been sold to a developer who will begin new construction there that might affect the building I am thinking of buying into.

YOu can also go to your county website and see if the data is online. Most of the time it is and that makes it very easy. Just type in your county and state in Google, and it will take you to your county website - like this: Montgomery County, OH.

Good Luck!

The register of deeds of your county. Anytime a property is sold the deed is recorded and that is a public record. Also you can ask a local realtor and they can pull the data for you easily.

Good luck
