and are ready to buy a house. We've been looking for a few weeks now, but so far nothing seems to be quite right. The trouble is, we're complete opposites when it comes to our tastes and priorities. I'd like something older, something with character and lots of square footage. He wants new, maintenance free and practical. I do believe it's possible to compromise, and that our dream home is out there somewhere, but this leads me to the actual question here. How much looking is too much? I worry that we're driving our real estate agent crazy with the power shopping (we set out twice a week, on average, and look at 5 or so houses each time). Is this overkill? Is there an easier way?
Thank you in advance for your advice!

Hi Shari,

When you find the right home that suits both of your wants and your needs, you will know it. Don't settle for less than what you want. The more you look, the more you will become educated to the area in which you would like to live, and the better you will be able to find the perfect home for both of you. It's out there somewhere.

There is really no set time to determine how long it will take to find that home. The experience is different for everyone. Don't worry about driving your Real Estate Agent crazy. Some people look for a few days and others look for a few months. It comes with the territory. The only way you will find the right house is by looking at those that fit your criteria, in the area you wish to be located in.

Take your time...you will know it's the right house for both of you when you walk through the front door!

Happy house hunting!
