Hi, Anyone have personal experience with Help Modify Now? If not, do you know of any legit Loan Modification

Asked by Patricia, Detroit, MI Fri May 8, 2009

attorneys or companies that will take you legitimately through the process of loan modification, who actually have a track record of success, who don't charge upfront, and won't charge an arm and a leg? Thanks.

Gunter...A felony Record is not a good example to parade in front of the Business World! Your Managers have vowed to refunf the $1400.00 I sent up=front almpst a Year ago before they "misplaced my file", My File dropped through the cracks, "our girl handling Your Case quit two months ago and we failed to reassign the case..Sorry!" Your Managers in a mutually authorized taped conversation vowed to send my Refund "in a week! That was September. My Years in Law made me quite familiar with scadles and scams to swindle money via delays, lies, etc. Of course Your corporation wouldn't sink to that Criminal level,.. would it? The 4 taped conversations were shared with proper Authorities in Sacramento & D.C. Send my Damn money today as Your Managers and Supervisors have vowed for months. You don't need or want more National Exposure and I'm sure the Average American will 100% back me in letters, Affidavits, Petitions, etc.... Just send my money today. Otherwise..6 Govt. Organizations and President Obama can read all of Your messages filled with prevarication, delays to make interest..etc. Thomas A. Stone

Help Modify Now is owned by Larry Gunter - a man with two felony theft CONVICTIONS, one last summer for stealing cash out from homeowners. Working with them does not make much sense. Larry Gunter's (public) record speaks for itself: 06/20/2007 487(a) PC F Grand theft GUILTY 07/30/2008 Pled Guilty 07/30/2008 --And-- 11/01/1993 487.1 PC F Grand Theft GUILTY 04/14/1994 Pled Guilty 04/14/1994. Working with any company under his ownership/control would be, at best, ill-advised.

Yes - I was told not to make my morgage payments while they were negotiating with my mortgage company. I also paid them $3500 to do my modification. My mortgage company said they never heard a word from this company. When I tried to get my money back - I stopped hearing from them. No address - no phone number.

The best place to start is the HOPE Hotline........IT'S FREE!
The Attorneys General’s Office and the Commissioner of Banks have established a hotline for consumers facing foreclosure. Consumers may call the HOPE Hotline toll-free at 888-995-HOPE 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for free counseling on options to avoid foreclosure. The hotline will connect callers with non-profit housing and credit counselors in their local community who can advise the homeowner about various options such as modifying their loan, selling or refinancing their home, or arranging a repayment plan with the lender to satisfy over time any arrearage.

My wife and I signed up to get help with Help Modify Now. After requesting information from us numerous times, they are nowhere to be found. We finally got great help from Take Charge America. We will be contacting our Attorney General to see how we can fight to get our $3,000 back.

I have been a customer over 1 year and they have not follow up on anything, The phone number and contact person responsible to process our account has changed over (4) four times. Now we can't even contact the anymore. This feel like a total fraud.

Hello Help modify now !!! if you are reading these feel free to contact me !

Patricia - I believe upfront fees for assistance with loan modifications are illegal in NC (I can't find the link that talks about this right now) Check out and call the numbers listed on that site for help. Good luck, it's important for you to be very pro-active in seeking help, but be careful, and check out whoever you get to help with the BBB and state attorney generals office, as there are a lot of scammers out there who just want to take you money from you, or scam you out of your house.

Hi Patricia

Check out my blog where I posted a few weeks back the HOPE Hotline. This is what I recommend everyone do first. The number and explanation of the hotline is right on the blog. It's been several weeks since I posted, so it's still at the top. Go to the below web address.............
