1) It doesn't fit into their marketing model. This in my mind is the best only reason not to be interested. If your market is first time home buyers you might want to learn a few basic facts on the matter.
2) It's so confusing. Well that is the fault of the industry teling you a bunch of rules and quoting regulation doesn't help you sell. However finding someone that can provide you with a basic and practical understanding of self directed IRAs can turn confusion into commission dollars.
3) Out of my league. What they're saying is I'm really not in the business and I don't want to learn something new.
I'm beginning to understand and see the benefit of Self-Directed IRA's to hold real estate. A few years ago I read about this and have continued to educate myself as time allows. Any options realtors can offer their sellers and buyers is a major plus when it comes to financing real estate.
