How can i found out how many houses were sold in my area within the last 2 months?

An agent in your area can provide that information. Keep in mind those numbers are just part of the puzzle. What features are in thoses home, where do they sit in that Community? (ex. back to road, woods etc.) What condition was the home in? Did it need anew roof, plumbing updates etc. The big picture gives you the best idea of the value of your home. Also take a look at current homes in your area to see your competition.

Rick, There are two sources for the information you're looking for. Realcomp II the area Multiple Listing Service and Wayne County Public Records. Wayne County would be the most accurate because that would contain sales from the MLS plus private sales. Unfortunately, Wayne County records are not updated regularly so that information may not be accurate.

Bill, I just did some research to answer your question and found that sales are fairly consistent in your area and the data indicates a fairly balanced market, meaning that the inventory number range from 2 - 8 Months of inventory in various price brackets. A balanced market is 6 months of inventory. There are an average of 30-50 homes selling per month in each $25,000 increment from 0-$150,000. From 150K - 200K, the average per month is 17 homes, 200K - 275K is 6-8 homes per month and above that it's only 2-4 per month.

It is most important to discuss with an agent the purpose of your question and a qualified professional will be able to help you sort through the available data to best serve and meet your objectives.

Bill, Best way is to get that information from a local agent. There are other websites you can look at, but not sure if they are completely accurate. Again, best source is an agent in the area. You might want to get sold and pending information.
