HI, Sadly, getting a license in CA is quite easy - at least in my mind. I used Allied school online. But that's only the first step. None of the courses I took taught me much about contracts, marketing, sales, negotiation, people skill, etc. .

The real issue is that getting a license is only the very first step in being a good Realtor for your client. California contract and advisories (both state level and local level) are getting more complicated by day.

The most important thing after you get the license is to find a reputable real estate company to be affiliated to. They will be able to provide you with good training on contracts, marketing (both your home and yourself), negotiation, and much more. They will also be able to give you a good idea about the time commitment and expense associated with a successful real estate career.

The benefit of which is immerse in helping your clients in buying and selling their properties. . .

Hi Sylvia. How long did it take you to complete the course and did you have to wait a long time to take the test?

Well, if you're looking for the easiest way, and a very inexpensive and fast process, go through

It's impossible fail their courses and it's really cheap. You don't even have to purchase the books. They are not needed since they essentially give you all the answers to the tests.

Now, all that said, you're not going to learn a whole lot this way. If you actually want to learn, then go to a class that you actually attend (a referral for one in your area with an interesting teacher helps).

Good luck!

Anthony's School of Real Estate was very good but you have to be dedicated as this particular course does not spoon feed you. But, if you do ALL of the things that they tell you to do, you WILL pass the test.

Chamberlin Real Estate school or Anthony's School of Real Estate. Both are excellent! Good luck.

i received mine through Century 21, it was cheap and easy. contact a c21 in your area, Im sure they all would offer it or get you hooked up. Back in the day when I did it you had to watch VHS tapes, geez hours of these tapes. Now I think it's all easy and on line...
good luck and welcome to real estate

my question is why? If it is for personal use, that's one thing. There are so many licensees in CA that I can't imagine a new licensee could make much of a living.

Plain scare tactic to try to scare away newcomers. Nice try

My realtor just closed 4 properties this month at about $18k per. Maybe we should just sit at home and let Obama take care of us

Exactly Barb. Hit the nail on the head right there. The same reasoning is why it's just plain ol'fiddleheaded to learn an instrument or go to Acting school or get a BA in business or learn how to cook or fly an airplane or write a book or build a house or...well golly! Come to think of it, there's o many musicians, businessmen, chefs, pilots, writers, contractors, etc etc etc, why would anybody want to anything? There's just SO darn many of EVERYTHING nowadays, best thing to do is to just throw a big ol' wet blanket on any fools desire to try doing something to expand their horizons or learn something new. Nice work!

I like Allied for the convenience of the online class. However, I noticed that some of the material is out of date and some of the information is flat out wrong. Before taking your exam I suggest using Real Estate Trainers for the 2 day course to get you ready for the exam. It is an excellent course and I breezed through both my sales person exam 5 years ago and my brokers exam a couple of years later. It was worth the time and money spent.

Good Luck.

I also used allied for two of my required courses in '06. You are correct. The texts were laden with typos and mis-information. I contacted them by phone to get confirmation that there were errors. I will not use them again.

I really liked It was really easy to use and had a lot of questions with explanations. I liked the flash cards too. It was one of the cheaper ones I could find as well. It cost me $29 for six months enrollment. Good deal and high quality. Would recommend.
