any pros/cons about buying a home in old bridge - off of englishtown road, closer to route 18 than rte 9.?

Asked by Mark, sussex co, nj Tue Feb 26, 2008

good area? seedy? NYC bus? any parts are within flood zone? overall neighborhood? i heard some areas are within contamination zone, but couldnt find any specific info. any way of lowering taxes if the property is assessed at half of what im paying ( or am i dreaming?) how about Jonas Salk school? good , bad? any other useful info is appreciated. really thinking of buying in that area as i saw several nice looking homes with a for sale sign

Rt 9 offers more buses with higher frequency to go to NYC. rt 18 buses are not very frequent and maybe more expensive and time consuming as compared to rt 9. either way, there is always the option to drive and park and ride in one of the city run park and rides. they are usually $1 a day or free (some). however keep in mind they fill up by 7 am.

Hi Mark,

The town's website provides answer to some of your questions. When it comes to neighborhood and school, Realtors can't comment on these issues.. Taxes and enviromental issues, the website gives you alot information and who you can contact in the township.

If you are not committed to Realtor, feel free to contact me and I will be able to provide with the current available listings.

Good Luck,
