Carol,, You apparently own the home and I would hope that you did not drop your insurance. What would happen if vandals got in and detryed all the new work, or a firs started from one of the construction workers from any accident or faulty electrical device, or a lightening strike.? then you woudl not have any rebound on additional funds to refix.
Never ever drop insurance when renovating. Now you could reduce the insurance amount during refurbishung to just structure and appliances and interior finishes and of course vandalism and fire of course, if in a flood zone or possible flood zone, even if ther hasn't been a recorded on in 100 years, remeber those that just got drenched, you need Insurance always.
Evbery investor I know keeps insurnace on there properties even during renovation just to cover what I mentioned before. SO Please to keep piece of mind and top protect your self, if someone gets hurt on your property keep the Insurance.

Unless the house was free and the renovation is free you should get insurance. Fire, wind, hail, water, vandalism, malisious mischief, and theft are only a few of the issues you face. Insurance will protect your investment. We can write that policy for you if you still need it.

Carol. If you own a home even being renovated call your homeowners insurance agent and get coverage on it right away. You do not want to b sued for anything, like someone getting hurt on the construction site- even if you have signs up do not enter etc, they will do it anyway, get fire, theft and so forth. Call your agent and ask him/ her why , and he is your best resource. I would do it as soon as you read this.
