Hi Marne,

It is strange the property shows for sale at $659,000 - it is NOT listed on the MLS and does not seem to be a for sale by owner. There is a website associated with the listing and they may have some sort of listing agreement with the owner which does not require them to list on the MLS (seems to defeat the purpose of listing a home, I know).

However, you should know that as Realtors we are required by the State to post our full names and brokerage name in any advertising and this agent (?) does not seem to be following this rule with a simple web address in the ad.

Should you wish to work with a local agent in your search for property, I'll be glad to assist you.

Best regards,

It is a shame, the property looks quite nice. I hope I might be wrong about this, but I don't think so given the lack of communication with you, Marne.

Thanks for the 'thumbs up' and please feel free to contact me if I can assist you in any way. I'll be glad to send you some properties in the area currently listed on MLS.

Best of luck to you,
Audra

For what purpose? undoubtedly trying to collect e-mail addresses as you said!

Thank you for your responses! I agree with Dana that you should report this. Since your responses and further investigation on our part, I have reported this listing as 'an error' to trulia.com. However, you both might have more clout with the powers that be than me.

I replied several times to the postlet and have not received a response in 6 days. If you google the website, nothing comes up and they never respond. It seems as if someone is trying to accumulate email addresses! For what purpose, is the question!

Too bad, I was really interested in the house! Which ironically closed less than one year ago.

Thanks,
Marne

Hi,audra:

Good answer. i am wondering if we as agents should address this issue to Trulia moderators. This seems to be coming up more & more lately.

Any local agent can help you with this--ascertain if it is available and arrange a showing if so. you do not have to deal with the listing agent exclusively.
