Hi Suzanne,

I'm note sure exactly which part of Belmont and Florida you are looking at, but my guess is that it's more towards the Columbia Heights/U Street area. That area has seen a lot of development and is close to a metro, gyms, coffee shops, and lots of boutiques and other stores on U street. Hello Suzanne,

That area has seen a lot of new development over the past 24 months. It is probably closest to the U street corridor ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U_Street_Corridor ) but is a short walk to Columbia Heights as well though it would be a walk uphill! In addition Meridian Hill Park is hust west and a great green space in the middle of the city.
