Money Magazine publishes an issue once a year with the best places to retire. Besides climate, the cost of living, access to health care and many other factors are important to consider. Where I'm located, in the Puget Sound area of Washington State, many military families like to retire here. The weather is moderate, lots of recreational opportunities, beautiful nature and so much more. It does rain a lot, which keeps everything lush and green.

If you want to contact me thru my website, I'll be happy to email you some listings for Chesapeake, Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown, and Hampton (where I live). Also let me know if you prefer a 55+ community, or just a calm laid back community.
I moved here from hot & humid south Florida five years ago, and my family and I simply love it. I've also assisted folks relocating from New England and Maine who were tied of 12 foot snow drifts (that I cannot imagine). It snowed here last night - a whole 1/2 inch! It snowed here in 2004 - a whopping 7 inches! If you're looking for a moderate climate, you can verify that this is geographically "it."
