You have an interesting question that I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss with you. If you are, as noted below, just interested in throwing out a bunch of offers without really caring which one you get, I have to tell you that many people feel that is somewhat questionable ethically. If you are looking in the $200K-$300K price range, I have to warn you that the market is crazy right now. Many are being outbid exorbitant prices by cash buyers who don't care about the appraised or fair market value. If you are bidding on a short sale or REO, I only want to work with other agents who submit only 1 offer to the bank - it's more efficient and much more ethical since the seller's agent is actually working for the seller, not the bank. Unfortunately, many agents forget this and just try to institute a bidding frenzy. If you have them submit YOUR offer when you really don't have much of an intention to stay in 'til the end, it seems like a disservice to the agent who is actually trying to do it right.
So you see, many things are variables that need to be considered:
Only want one home, or many investments?
Need a mortgage, or a cash buyer?
Care about handling the situation ethically or not really caring?
Value straightforward talk from YOUR agent, or just a "yes" man/woman?

If you are talking about trying for one by putting in 25 offers on 25 properties and hoping to get lucky with a bottom price, that's workable. You have to be very careful how you do it and not end up with 2 or 3 saying yes at the same time.
