J.P., Home Buyer in Tampa, FL

Can you describe how Palm Beach Gardens looks and feels for a person that has never lived here?

Asked by J.P., Tampa, FL Mon Apr 23, 2007

Do residents maintain their homes and lawns? Are there dramatic differences between different neighborhoods or zip codes? Is there a dominant architecture throughout the city?

The city is well maintained. There are many neighborhoods that are gatad communities with expertly maintained garden-like roadways and park areas. The non-gated communities are lovely as well and offer many beautifully kept properties. Homes in the northern part of Palm Beach Gardens and Jupitert are newer and offer more manicured settings. In the southern part, a balanced mixture of homes from the late 60's (and younger) and newer homes exist including gated communities. Golf communities are big throughout the area;inclubing: Ballen Isles (33410), PGA (33418), The Bears Club (33477), Admiral's Cove (33477), Jonathan's Landing (33477), Frenchman's Creek (33477), and many, many more. There are equestrian communities inclubing Horseshoe Acres (33418) and Caloosa. Abocoa ia also an attractive setting and offers a planned community, the future location of the Scripps expansion, and the Florida Atlantic University. Please contact me with your interests aqnd I will locate the best suited neighborhoods for your consideration.

Palm Beach Gardens has a well planned out wide mixture of luxury housing developments, middle income developments, golf communities, retirement communities and affordable housing to accommodate a variety of lifestyles. Not only is it a great place to live but it is also a great vacation spot. The city encourages businesses to locate here to maintain a healthy social and economic balance. The homes and lawns are well maintained and common areas along roads, in developments and all around the city are landscaped to showcase Florida living. The city within minutes of Ocean beaches, fishing, snorkeling and other water sports. There is no one dominant architectural styles, which means you have a wide variety of choices. Everything you need is right here.

Because of the significant number of communities, there is tremendous pride in Palm Beach Gardens. Developments are maintained to the highest levels and are welcoming and enjoyable. Because of the variety of home types, home buyers can choose from Key West style homes to traditional Florida architecture, even community/commercial developments.

PBG is a really nice place to live, especially if you have children. The Burns Rd. Rec Center has a huge playground, offers classes, camps, etc, there is a pool and a small waterpark type pool for the little kids.
PBG also has festivals and whatnot, right now the Greenmarket is in season on Sundays. There are a ton of other parks and playgrounds scattered around, some w/ 'big kid' things such as tennis courts, basketball courts, jogging tracks, heart trails, etc.

The Gardens Mall is wonderful and very high class.

Lots of other shopping as well, pretty much anything you can want is within a 5 minute drive. My husband teases and says I live in a box because I don't have to go more than a 5 mile radius of our house.
PBG is also very close to Jupiter and Juno Beach, which are wonderful towns as well. Beaches are gorgeous, and well kept. Abacoa, in Jupiter, also has a ton of stuff going on.
Not too far from CityPlace in West Palm Beach for nightlife.
I highly recommend it. I have lived in Tampa, and moved back to PBG a little over a year ago. There is nothing quite like good 'ol PBG. But if you are looking in the area, Jupiter, Juno, Tequesta, North Palm, and PBG are all good areas.

In the Gardens you will find a lot of new construction and gated communitites. Some communities are built around a golf course. The HOA's do a good job of maintaning the landscape or enforcing rules. The city has also done a great job at beautifying and maintaining the cities landscape.
