Do real estate agents that work with celebrities offer special services?

Asked by Kyle, Los Gatos, CA Mon Jan 7, 2008

Am under the impression different brokerages offer varying levels of service. Undoubtedly, you get what you pay for. Assuming a discount broker would not be able to provide top-notch service, are there brokerages out there that are not on the map? Super exclusive? Brokerages that work with celebrities and the uber wealthy?

Confidentiality agreements, trusts, corporate trusts and LLC's can keep the transaction private. Yes, there are Agents to the stars. They can be with large firms or boutiques.

Kyle, Great question!
I would think that is the case and I myself am working at providing such services.. I think that primarily a celebrity wants to be assured availability, anonymity and discretion! They may also ask that a broker/agent be available at odd hours and the drop of the hat. I believe that a large brokerage cannot provide the appropriate level of service, as it would be very hard to keep the transaction private, as at most large brokerages that I have worked at, all the information goes through a "system" and many people along the line are party to the information including the accounting department. In addition there are some exclusive and unique properties that sellers, though they may not be celebrities per-se, may not want their business partners, friends social aquaintances and neighbors to know, that they have on the market or have sold.

I offer discounts to my clients but I provide full service so the only discount is to the benefit of my client. They don't receive less service. I've shown $250k condos and I've shown million dollar homes. Every one of my clients receives the best service regardless of what they are purchasing. I have never worked with a celebrity, but I would be honored to represent them. If they were to have me represent them in a multi-million dollar sale, I could afford to drive them around in a Maybach :-)

Yes, we do. They have very special requirments and sometimes the people you work with aren't even they celebrity themselves.

Discount brokers can get the business too, the client just has special needs.

ps the wealthy are the easiest people to work with, especially when selling properties. They just get the numbers of it.
