Asked by Jamie, Dover, MA Mon Jan 7, 2008

there is no centralized rental database as there is with homes for sale, how can I best search for these listings? I've been wasting so much time trying to find websites for local reatlors in each town -- and even then I'm lucky to find only 2 or 3 rentals. There has to be a better way....

Unfortunately, there is no one place to go. The best sources are http://www.projo.com, http://www.riliving.com, and http://www.craigslist.com. Riliving.com is the website realtors enter their rental listings into. Craigslist.com is also very popular as it is free for realtors and landlords to enter their rentals.

Easy! Just go to http://www.Craigslist.org Choose providence and you'll have a huge array of houses and apartments to look through. No realtors or anyone to disturb. I rent all my places that way and I've had a huge success with the site. You can also post that you want a home SFR to rent and people will actually e-mail you their pics. Responses will be pouring in.

It depends. We have a house in Dover, MA that we need to rent out (can't sell yet due to septic issues). We'd like to move sooner than later but there is nothing concrete as of yet. If the price and area are right we would be willing to move before finding our own tenant.
