There are alot of bank owned properties on the market right now. Those are what your looking for, typically they are better priced then homes currently in foreclosure. The assett managers want thier properties sold and off the books. Call your local Real Estate Broker. If you would like to search Contra Costa County use my website http://www.MattIrvin.com

Hi Alan,
There are a few bank owned properties in San Mateo county, and I just ran across a default report that stated there were about 250 defaults in Nov 07 in the county (defaultresearch.com). There are also a number of short sales on the market, these are listed on the mls, as are the REOs, your Realtor can point them out to you. You can also search on Trulia and realtytrac.com. Good hunting!

Alot of homes presently on the market are in some form of deliquentcy or about to go into foreclosure. I would start making so lowball offers and sooner or later you will come acorss a foreclsoure deal. Another place to look is court house records. There are alot of companies that compile the information for a monthly fee. I would just google "Foreclosure Homes" in your city i'm sure there are plenty of companies.
