For the city of Phoenix the tax rate is 2.0%, but you only pay it on your 3rd rental until on. If you own two or less you do not have to collect and pay this tax.

Peter, I have rentals, and yes - 2% is what the City of Phoenix requires. Be sure to check out City of Phoenix Privilege Sales Tax on google to get your license. Then you receive a form each month to enter in the amount of tax collected along with a check to the City Treasurer.
