Most of the April, May and some June questions were seeded by Trulia staff members and founding members. They weren't even real consumer questions for the most part. They seeded to get the ball rolling.
It would be nice if they could archive those posts. Make them accessible for reading and research,
but they bog down the forum when they pop up newly answered.
I reccomend the following triggers to close the thread. 1. Original questioner should have a button option to mark the thread as completed.
2. If question has had no answers at all it is recycled as a new question in 12 hours.
3. If a question was asked more than 30 days ago and has no answers younger than 7 days old it is archived. Original questioner allowed to revive thread.
4. Trulia staff members should archive all their seed questions, even if they have recent answers.
Currently we don't drop off questions posted to Trulia Voices however we've heard this suggestion before and I'll be sure to remind our team about it.

I am with you. I feel that there should be a way allowing the person who asks the questions to determine whether answers should be continued to be posted or maybe there should just be a trivia time limit on a question. The reason is that most real estate questions are time sensitive. When somebody askes a question about closing, they don't need to know another answer one month later.

Might be helpful. I think the majority decided to keep the question around. Some of the questions are more general - what's the best restaurant in San Rafael, CA - you can answer that all year long, but not a lot of others.
