If you are an investor, foreclosed properties are a good investment.
If you are wanting to immediately live in a home you purchase, foreclosed properties may not be the correct choice for you.
We have a family we are currenly working with as Buyers' Agents. They had heard about the great deals they could find to maximize their chosen purchase price range. We agreed to take them to a few forclosured properties of their choice. Our Buyers were amazed at the poor condition of those homes as compared to the others on the street. Most of them were not in a condition for the Buyers' family to live in. Some were missing plumbing in the basement, heating & air conditioning units, windows, walls, etc. Some were unsafe becuase of structural issues, such as unstable steps, sagging roofs, propped up porches, unstable floors, sagging ceilings, etc. ( At one home, a large piece of a second floor gutter fell on my head, fortunately not the Buyers' babies.) And, last of all, some of these homes have visable mold, evidence of pests such mice & insects, peeling potential lead based paint, etc.
Please remember that foreclosed properties can be found in every community in Northeast OH!
There are no properties on Elm Drive in Avon for sale for $160k.
