The multiple listing service only handles one area for Sunnyvale - area 19.
If you go to my web site http://www.CJBRealEstate.com and click the tab on the left titled "Local Market Statistics" you can select Sunnyvale and the a variety of reports will generate showing trends and other information.
Hope that helps.
There are a lot of resources out there that offer real estate market statistics. You have Trulia, Zillow, the Local MLS, and various agent websites. I subscribe to a service called AltosResearch. After researching various providers I found their data to be the most accurate being that it is updated weekly and organized by zip code. If you want to most accurate data, sign up for the market update for 94087 or any other zip code. You can do so on my website:
My website and business focus is on Santa Clara Valley Real Estate areas like Sunnyvale, Cupertino, and Santa Clara.
Look for the statistics link on the hearder.
Best of luck to you
We are seeing a softening in Sunnyvale that previously, even in late 2008, did not seem so apparent. The closed sale data is still around $925K to $1MK on a nice big 3- or 4-bedroom in the desirable 94087.
You can check out http://www.Zillow.com for some pricing information. And, most realtors can pull title data in a circumference around any particular address if you want to see all of the sold homes relative to one particular house.
Good luck! Let me know if you'd like any specific list or sold data by zip code, lot size, bedroom and bath size, etc. Sunnyvale skews by zip code and there is a hierarchy -- so you will find 94087 then 94086, then 94085 and then the least expensive homes are in 94089.
