idea which neighborhoods in Las Vegas are good and which I want to avoid. I'd like to find a nice little ranch house in the $75,000-$150,000 range. I'm not ready to relocate from NH yet but could very possibly be ready to buy a nice affordable home. Can you help? I want to be able to walk or ride a bike, a like shopping, I'd love to be by a park or parks. Schools don't matter. I'd like to take up golf again. A shared clubhouse/pool is a good idea or my own pool is better. Have NO idea what to expect in Vegas but if you can help us out, we'll hop a flight and do this!!

Debb, You might consider keeping an eye on discussions or asking questions in a Las Vegas Forum..
You can possibly get some info from people who live, work or are retired and their views of neighborhoods........
http://www.topix.com/forum/city/las-vegas-nv .............http://www.city-data.com/forum/las-vegas/

As you hear of neighborhoods you can use this site..http://www.bhgrealestate.com/Views/Look/Default.aspx
to see housing trends/info, crime ect broken down into neighborhoods and all info is from county records..

This interactive map from Trulia is a good way to watch what's happening......http://www.trulia.com/home_prices/Nevada/Las_Vegas-heat_map/

Watch rental trends to see what people are paying and in which neighborhood....http://www.zilpy.com/

Take the time to learn what is available.....Hud homes for sale.......http://hud2.towerauction.net/cgi-bin/e7_search.cgi

If you do these things before you fly to Vegas you may have an idea of what you want to look at....

Good morning Debb,
Las Vegas is a wonderful place to live and retire. There are many Communities that fit your search criteria. Yesterday the weather was fabulous 70 degrees and sunny. A perfect day for all your outdoor activities. Biking, hiking trails, golf and many centers offer discounted trips and hikes around town. I would love the opportunity to share Las Vegas with you. I have relocated from Chicago to Las Vegas about 9 years ago and I enjoy all that Las Vegas has to offer.

One of the oldest courses in the area, Black Mountain¹s 18 holes meander through neighborhoods in Henderson, a suburb of Las Vegas. The Black Mountain range overlooks the semi-private course that is home to wide fairways, smallish greens and many trees. A new clubhouse and driving range are available. PGA Tour players Craig Barlow and Edward Fryatt grew up playing Black Mountain. Par 72. Y (R/S) 6,541 (71.2/123)
Would enjoy the opportunity to send you some listings and neighborhood information.

Best of Luck to you

Good morning,
What you want will be very easy to find. Your price range is doable for your request... A couple of questions. How many bedrooms? sq. footage wanted? Would you like an all single story community or does that matter? There are many communities with walking trails and the shared clubhouse/pool area you'd like... Let me know if you'd like an email with some properties to consider. my email address is Penny@pennysproperties.com or visit my web site to view more of my profile. http://www.PennysProperties.com
Enjoy your day,

Hi Debb,

There are some great areas around town that match your description. There are many people in the same situation as you purchasing homes right now as well. It seems to me that Las Vegas is a great place for a 2nd home. It is not necessary for you to come into Las Vegas unless you truly want to. If you have a great Realtor, they should be able to explain some of the more desirable areas around town. This way you will have a better idea of the communities and can make a more informed decision on the location within Las Vegas.

I would be happy to discuss your situation with you if you would like to call me. I am extremely familiar with the entire valley and could give you some tips on where many people desire as a 2nd home location. I help many people purchase their 2nd homes in my area. Most of these people never even have to come into town. I do all of the research for you and make sure you are aware of what you are getting into. This makes things much easier for any buyer. Let me know if I can be of help. My contact info is below. Take care Debb.

Hi Debb,

It sounds like though you are not ready to relocate, you would like to purchase now while the market is down. There are some wonderful opportunities right now. I help a lot of people who are out of state. I'd love to set up a phone appointment with you so that we could discuss your needs further. Please give me a phone call (702) 348-7146. Also please feel free to go to my website where you can see what other people say about the service I provide for my clients. Once we are able to talk on the phone and get acquainted, there are some things that I can do to help you immediately in your search for a home here. I look forward to speaking with you in the near future.

Debb,

Your description of your situation is clear and presents a picture of a person that is in serious need of additional information.

It sounds like you need a trip to Las Vegas for the expressed purpose of collecting information about the area to be able to determine if this is the right palace for you. This adventure should not be confused by looking a property. Its purpose should be considered as information gathering only.
