WIlmette is a quiet town. That's why we've lived there for more than 16 years. But I was referring to a true lack of substantive "noise" in real estate activity. There has been a substantial drop (> than 25%) in listing activity YTD versus the same period last year. Interestingly, there have been 18 closed deals, the same as last year. Go figure. But the market lacks any "news" or scuttlebutt.
Winnetka's had over 70 "new" listings - with a smaller population. (But only 14 sales.) Even with the negative news in the financial markets, job market, etc., I expected a little more activity in Wilmette.
Few questions because no agents are putting up shill questions that they answer themselves.
And, Wilmette's an easy place to understand.
I've always thought Wilmette was a bargain compared to other New Trier-district suburbs. What's your take on that, Don?
