Anyone know about the noise level at Mira Vista condominiums, James Is?

Asked by Louise, Charleston, SC Mon Oct 15, 2007

How well are the floors/walls constructed? Is it a party on the balcony kind of place, or quiet?

The noise level at Mira Vista is not great. I live on the second floor and it is incredibly loud when upstairs neighbor walks around. She has two large dogs and it sounds like a herd of elephants when they run across the floor. The insulation is not very good and it sounds like my upstairs neighbor is stomping across the floor every time she walks around. I would strongly consider that if you are looking to buy at Mira Vista unless you lived on the top floor. Also, the parking lot is quite loud with people talking late at night and playing loud music on their radios.

I lived there for 3 months when I first moved to Charleston. I found it to be like most apartment buildings. I could hear the neighbors dog running around upstairs all the time. It was fine, but I would definitely live on the top floor.

I live in Mira Vista now. I think they are great! They are quiet and have a great gym and pool.

Mira Vista Condominium Place is very very quiet. I never had any issues. The place is so quiet even at night, I never had in past six years any noise issue in parking lot or around the condos and neighbours. You may have once in a while car passing by with the radio on, but other than that it is a lovely quiet place I have ever seen. Some of the comments made by someone on this post is like overstating. You go to any other place, and you will have somekind of issue no matter what.

But to tell you the truth, being so close to everything, this the greatest place in Charleston, SC.

I ended up renting there briefly, the noise of others walking in the corridors was distracting (cement slabs are not great noise insulators), as was the leak in the bedroom wall. I moved out. But I am glad you are having a better experience than I did.

I would agree with the last post that the quality of construction at Mira Vista is of high and the building materials used afford a quiet surrounding. Due to the proximity to downtown, MUSC and the College of Charleston, paired with the afford ability of these condos, many young professionals choose to live in Mira Vista. This creates for a fun environment, which from time to time can be a little lounder than other communities.

Another great condo complex to check out is the Regatta. Located just around the corner from Mira Vista on James Island. These condos range from 1-3 bedrooms and are deck out with amenities for the price point.

Check out the link below to view a multitude of condos available on James Island. Goodluck and contact me with any questions.

I think that the quality of construction at Mira Vista is good enough to cut down on noise. There are a lot of younger owners and renters in this condo development, so you will hear some noise through the walls. I would also look at The Retreat condos in James Island. They aren't as close to downtown Charleston, but they offer a slightly higher grade of construction.

The noise level in Mira Vista is very low. The property is constructed of masonary and well insulated. I have sold 2 units and have 2 additional units there and have never heard that as a concern. The community, although young in age demographics, tends to attract professionals, second home owners, and MUSC students. It's a great place to live.
