Has anyone seen the article by Jim Cronin called "EPro is a tin foil badge?"

It's a very humorous read, and pretty accurate too! Would love to hear some feedback from some genuine EPros out there! You can find the article on the or try clicking on this link:… .

I got my e-PRO 2 years ago. As a 40 something, I learned a lot. It was current information at the time, so the program may be dated. However, they are going to be doing an e-PRO 2.0 soon.

As far as the blog you refer being accurate, I would beg to differ, but won't address all the points here. I will say this--having my e-PRO designation has kept me up to date with all the latest technology and how to use it by being a part of the e-PRO's online community. Some of the smartest tech people around know are on the blogs every day with excellent advice/information. It has been my most valuable tool thus far in the business. I no longer waste time, money, or energy on worthless products. I am light-years ahead of anyone in my company when it comes to using and understanding the technology. So, where the course leaves off, the education is continued on a daily basis on the e-PRO blog.
Whether you are computer literate or not, there is something to learn by taking this course. It's very indepth and worthwhile.

Great article. Much of the NAR 'training' is expensive and irrelevant to today's environment. As much as I wish to move my marketing to web 2.0, learning and implementing the overwhelming amount of new technology options can be daunting, at times. Sure, there are some great blogs with informative articles out there which are helpful but do any realtors know of a good training program? One that is up to date and relevant? I'd be all for that.

Very interesting article - quite funny too! I recently "graduated" from e-pro and I found it interesting but not very difficult. Agreed that it was not extremely cutting edge, but it was a vehicle for me to sharpen my online skills. Technology does not play a big part in my office so anything that makes me more proficient and helps me understand whats available out there in the big wide web, ultimately helps my clients. I would recommend this e-pro designation only to new agents starting out.

I am a crusader for changes in NAR. The article is quite funny and very accurate. Here is my directory of NAR related posts:

In our efforts we put Web 2.0 on the back burner. The reason: we are trying to find the right functionality first. If it works - we will bother with Web 2.0. Implementing the new technology can be very daunting and resource consuming. Below you can see the link to a new service we will be testing soon. The idea here is to sales negotiated on line. We call it "See it in Person - Negotiate On-Line".
