The way to do it is diversify, network and never stop...from 7 am to 7 pm...and things will start happening. People are buying...one just have to do whatever it takes to satisfy clients
People are struggling all around us.....survival is all about making the best choices possible. For people relying on only real estate income as a source of survival times are really tough. Many of our area associates in this situation have moved to part time RE and are working other jobs to generate steady income.
We feel the key is to find work that some how contributes to the real estate business....and keeps those leads coming in.

I guess you have to look at all your options - but somebody told me many years ago- when it's busy, you work hard. When it's slow- you work harder. If you truly want to have Real Estate as your career, you need to put all your effort into that, and it will pay off. Partner up with successful Realtors in your company or mentor with a successful agent and use techniques that you feel comfortable with to ignite your business.
Just my opinion, but having seen the ebbs and flows of this business for almost 30 yrs, the ones that stayed in the game, always were successful.
(I did network marketing in the past, and it actually ended up costing me more than I made....)

Thankfully, our area didn't collapse like many of the larger markets across the country. Yes it is slow, but it is already picking up as insurance rates begin to drop along with historically low interest rates. 10 months of inventory is not too bad!!!

Additionally, start getting on lists to do BPO's. There is a big demand for that since the REO market is so hot, and not only will you make money for every BPO, you'll learn the market better, and how to do better comps.

WARNING: Be cautious about most networking opportunities. Some require a lot of upfront money and time, with no ROI. The best thing to do is something that won't interfere with real estate so you can continue to hang in there while the market goes through this downturn.
