There are a lot of "pests" in Florida and homes with treatment systems are common. They could be either termite pre-treatment tubes used by builders to provide a preventive shield for the home for the first few years or "Baits" used around the parameter of a home to monitor for termite activity. My best answer is to ask a few more questions to determine what type of pest they are designed to treat, find out when they were installed ( they do expire), and whether a warranty is offered. IMHO pest tubes are a complete waste of money. You have to distribute a lot of material to cover all the tubes. I feel a perimeter spray on a schedule is a much better use of your pesticides. Who wants neorotoxins in their walls?

Go to Pesttubes.com. All the information you are looking for is there. Also, Pest Tubes(tm) should not be used for termite (under-the slab) protection. They were developed for in-the-walls pest control service.

Yes - they work very well when they are installed and serviced properly.

All Maronda Homes in Florida come standard with pest tubes under the slab and in the exterior walls for termite and pest control. A representative from Home Team Pest Defense (or from another pest control company) will shoot a high pressure gas into the tubes from the exterior of the home.

Pest tubes are common to treat for subterranean termites usually placed in the perimeter of a property. I would contact a pest control company to ask more details - like longevity of the baits and how effective they are. One of the big termite and pest control companies in the Miami Area is Guarantee Floridian.
